Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH) is the largest free pediatric hospital in Sri Lanka, located in Colombo. It serves as the national referral center for pediatric care and is one of the largest children’s hospitals in the world, with over 1,200 beds. Established in 1910, LRH provides 24/7 emergency and outpatient services, specialized pediatric treatments, and acts as a teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Colombo.

Colombo East Base Hospital (CEBH) – Mulleriyawa is a rapidly developing government healthcare institution located in the Colombo District of Sri Lanka. Originally part of the Mulleriyawa Mental Hospital complex.

Sri Jayewardenepura General Hospital (SJGH), located in Thalapathpitiya, Nugegoda, is a government-owned, not-for-profit tertiary care hospital in Established in 1983 as a gift from Japan, it spans nearly 30 acres and offers over 1,300 beds, 37 specialties, and 12 operating theatres. Known for its eco-friendly design and affordable, high-quality care, SJGH provides a full range of services—from outpatient treatment to complex surgeries—and also serves as a teaching hospital for medical professionals.

The National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL), located in Colombo, is the country’s largest and oldest government hospital, established in 1864. Spanning over 32 acres, it serves as the final referral center and largest teaching hospital in Sri Lanka, affiliated with the University of Colombo. With over 3,400 beds, 18 ICUs, and 21 operating theatres, NHSL handles millions of outpatient visits and thousands of surgeries annually. It’s a hub for specialized care in cardiology, neurology, nephrology, surgery, psychiatry, and more, and also houses training schools for nursing, radiography, physiotherapy, and pharmacy.
