A Sri Lankan Doctor’s Breakthrough Discovery on Migraine

Migraine is a common and debilitating condition that affects millions of people worldwide. It is characterized by moderate to severe headaches, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound. The exact cause of migraine is still unknown, and the current treatments are often ineffective or have side effects.

However, a Sri Lankan doctor claims to have found the root cause and the healing for migraine, after 13 years of continuous research. Dr. Ratnasiri Bandara, who works at the Gampola Teaching Hospital has discovered that migraine is caused by the expansion of veins around the forehead due to nitric oxide, a gas that is produced by the body.

Nitric oxide is normally beneficial for the body, as it helps regulate blood pressure, immune system, and nerve signals. However, Dr. Bandara believes that when nitric oxide penetrates the paranasal sinuses, which are air-filled cavities behind the nose and eyes, it causes hypoxia, or low oxygen levels, in the blood vessels. This leads to the dilation of the veins and arteries around the forehead, resulting in migraine pain.

Dr. Bandara has also proposed a new hypothesis called Sinus Hypoxic Nitric Oxide Theory (SHNOT) to explain the mechanism of migraine and its treatment. According to SHNOT, the key to curing migraine is to reduce the nitric oxide levels in the sinuses and increase the oxygen levels in the blood vessels. This can be achieved by using nasal sprays, inhalers, or oxygen therapy, depending on the severity of the condition.

Dr. Bandara has tested his theory and treatment on several patients, and claims to have achieved remarkable results. He says that his patients have experienced significant relief from migraine pain and frequency, and some have even been cured completely. He has also published some papers on his findings in international journals, and has received recognition and support from the medical community.

Dr. Bandara hopes that his discovery will revolutionize the field of migraine research and treatment, and will benefit millions of sufferers around the world. He also plans to conduct further studies and trials to validate and improve his theory and method. He says that his ultimate goal is to make migraine a thing of the past, and to restore the quality of life of those who are affected by it.
